Easily Made Videos

With all the great electronic gadgets out there my favorite has to be my digital video camera and my computer. Together I can make some simple videos. I make them for my fiance' and her horses (not something to get into if you are cheap), my son, and my racing. A good camera can be had for about $250-300 now. The HD ones are driving the costs down on the digital ones. All it needs is a digital output. Then any newer computer that has a firewire card in it and Windows XP is all you need. My latest computer I got from the Micro Center for $200 after rebates. It wasn't bundled with anything but a keybord and mouse. Compaq Presario 160GB hard drive, internal firewire card, and a DVD burner. The DVD burner is invaluable. You can make movies with you camera, edit them on your computer using the Windows Movie Maker real easy and quick. It is extremely easy to use. Then the software that came on the computer allows you to make a DVD with that movie. Again very easy to use. Buy yourself a stack of DVD's which cost you only $0.20 a piece and you can cheaply share your racing experiences. Better yet you can put some of these videos on http://www.youtube.com/ (free). Here is my latest that I did. It's pretty simple but captures some of my newer car's highlites...Not on youtube yet.
